Civil Engineer (Road Repair) - 1 year contract

Position Overview:
The Civil Engineer (Road Repair) will oversee and manage all aspects of road maintenance and repair projects. This includes assessing road conditions, designing repair plans, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring project completion within budget and on time. The Civil Engineer - Supervisor (Industrial Painting) will oversee and manage painting projects for industrial buildings, pipe racks, and mild steel (MS) structures. This includes ensuring proper surface preparation, selecting suitable materials, supervising the application process, and guaranteeing adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct site inspections to evaluate road damage and determine the scope of repair.
2. Prepare project plans, cost estimates, and technical specifications for road repair work.
3. Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
4. Coordinate with contractors, and stakeholders for approvals.
5. Supervise the use of materials and equipment to ensure proper application and durability.
6. Monitor project timelines, budgets, and progress, reporting updates to senior management.
7. Conduct post-completion inspections to ensure the quality and sustainability of repairs.
8. Ensure adherence to environmental and legal regulations during repair activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Preparation:
• Assess surfaces (industrial buildings, pipe racks, and MS structures) to determine painting requirements.
• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets for painting projects.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, including paints, primers, and protective coatings.
2. Supervision and Execution:
• Oversee surface preparation processes, including cleaning, sandblasting, and priming.
• Supervise the painting process to ensure proper application techniques, including spraying, brushing, or rolling.
• Monitor the work of contractors and painting crews to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
3. Quality Control and Safety Compliance:
• Inspect completed work to ensure paint application is consistent, durable, and meets quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including the use of PPE and compliance with OSHA standards.
• Monitor the handling and disposal of hazardous materials to meet environmental regulations.
4. Team Coordination and Communication:
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to minimize disruption during painting activities.
• Provide guidance and technical support to painting teams as needed.
• Prepare regular progress reports and updates for senior management.
5. Problem-Solving:
• Address any challenges or issues that arise during the project, such as weather-related delays or material shortages.
• Recommend solutions to improve painting methods, durability, and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience:
• Proven experience in supervising industrial painting projects, especially for large structures like pipe racks, MS structures, and industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, coating systems, and painting techniques.
• Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with industry standards for industrial coatings (e.g., NACE or SSPC).
• Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and contractors.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Certifications (Optional):

NACE Coating Inspector Certification or equivalent is an advantage
