Education & Certification
The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Professional certifications such as OCP (Oracle Database Admin Professional), PostgreSQL Professional Certification, and CPSDBA are required to validate hands-on expertise in managing and securing databases.


Job Role
Reporting to the CTO, the Database Administrator should have around 7 years of experience, preferably within the banking domain or payment technology sector. The role involves database design using ER models, normalization, performance tuning, backup and restoration, as well as installation and management of Oracle and PostgreSQL database clusters. The candidate must possess strong skills in SQL query optimization and database security management. Managerial responsibilities include identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards. The role also requires strategic thinking, independent problem-solving, team leadership, multitasking, and contributing to overall data integrity and system performance

 

Technical Responsibilities
Database designing using ER Model
Database normalization
Database performance tuning
Database backup and restore
Hands-on experience of managing Oracle DB
Hands-on experience of managing PostGre DB
SQL query writing and optimization
Oracle and PostGre security management
Installing Oracle 2 node cluster
Installing PostGre database cluster

Managerial Responsibilities
Awareness of database security breaches and vulnerabilities
Maintains quality of service by following organization standards
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Safeguards database by identifying and solving potential and actual data security problems
Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications
Think strategically and provide insight into how to improve existing database processes
Recognizes problems in databases
Developing organization-wide database security measures
